Synopsis (from Goodreads):
1919. Henry has moved to the countryside with her parents and her baby sister, Piglet – all still scarred by the death of her brother. Alone in her head, she begins to explore her surroundings, encouraged by her only friends – characters from her favourite books. Nobody much notices when she wanders into the woods at the bottom of the garden and meets Moth, a striking witch-like woman. Together they form a bond that could help Henry save her family.
Review:
This book sucked me in from the start. There’s a lot of emotion packed into this little book, but it never felt overwhelming. One of my favorite aspects of the books is Henry’s love of fairytales. I love that the fairytales have intertwined themselves into her imagination and the story itself takes on a magical feel: Moth and her little campsite in the woods, the things Henry sees in the windows when she’s outside at night, and the Doctor fitting into the story as a villain of sorts. I love when an author can work all of these types of exciting elements into the storyline and I can walk away with a positive, fulfilled feeling at the end of the story. This book has a little bit of everything for readers of all ages.
Highly recommend. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

I bought the paperback and gave it away, then bought two hardbacks, one for me and one as a gift.

One of my favorite things about reading is discovering a book and/or author that you just *have* to share with others. ❤️
