How To Walk Away by Katherine Center

Thank you to Booksparks and St Martin’s Press for sending me a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Synopsis (from Goodreads):

Margaret Jacobsen has a bright future ahead of her: a fiancé she adores, her dream job, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment.

In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect.

How to Walk Away is Katherine Center at her very best: an utterly charming, hopeful, and romantic novel that will capture reader’s hearts with every page.

Review:

You know how sometimes you read a book and you walk away from it feeling like you’ve made a new friend? That was me and Margaret and How To Walk Away. Center did an absolutely amazing job with this book, and it left me with a bit of a book hangover.

I’ve tried numerous times to explain my love for this book to friends looking for recommendations, and the best I’ve been able to come up with has been this: Center has taken a really heavy topic, and made it enjoyable. Now how do I make that make sense? I don’t mean she’s making light of a serious situation, but she’s created a character who has such an engaging personality, a character who is just so dang likable, even in her dark moments, that you’re constantly cheering for her.

Fans of heartfelt, emotional reads, fans of women’s fiction, and fans of Scottish accents will love How To Walk Away. I dare you to read it and not walk around with a smile on your face.

Highly recommend. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
