๐Happy Thursday, friends. As glorious as the extended holiday weekend was, Iโm riding the struggle bus now that the rest of the week is here. Anyone else? Iโve been stuck on it being โMondayโ, so the fact that tomorrow is already Friday is pretty fantastic. โข

๐So back to that extended weekend we just had. I forgot to take my iPad with me, which I use as my ereader. That meant I wasnโt able to catch up on some required reading for some personal commitments. However, it did force me to be more present in the real world and I got to some of my physical #backlist titles I had packed. So I guess it evened out. โข

๐One of the books I read was โ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ค ๐๐ช โ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ค๐ค๐ ๐พ๐ ๐๐๐๐จ๐๐. This was one of my #bookofthemonth picks from back in 2018 (March, to be exact), and because I have a tendency to fly by the seat of my pants, I couldnโt remember the synopsis and didnโt bother to check it out before I started reading. So I had no idea what I was getting into, but I was convinced it was a fantasy story. It was not. โข

๐Ultimately, it was a murder mystery focusing on the brother of the victim. He was trying to solve the mystery of who killed his sister, but he was also going through some self-discovery along the way.

๐ There were some creative twists and turns thrown into the storyline, but ultimately what stayed with me was the ambiance of the setting, the dark ominous feeling of never knowing who or what was going to be behind the next closed door. โข

๐I read it in a day, and it held my interest, but I donโt think itโs a book Iโll be raving about or actively recommending. Iโd give it a middle-of-the-road rating. Has anyone else read this book? Iโm curious to know how others reacted to it. โข

โข โ๏ธ Icing on the cake? After destroying the box of k-cups in my attempt to get them open after my trip to the grocery store, I realized I bought decaf. DECAF! ๐ฉ And then I had an epiphany: I can have a late night coffee and still wake up in time for work. Boom! Crisis averted. (Kind of. I still need to get more regular for the mornings, or someone might die.)

๐ Despite all the chaos, there is one legitimately exciting thing to come out of the day: Iโm actually remembering to make a #newreleasetuesday post! Huzzah!!
