🔪 Happy Friday, friends! I’m living in a snow globe up here in Sconnie, but I’m conveniently tucked in for the night. So I’ll survive. Anyone else hunkering down? Want a great thriller recommendation for your weekend? Thought so. 😏 • • 🔪KIᒪᒪ, ᔕᒪᗴᗴᑭ, ᖇᗴᑭᗴᗩT by Britney King made its official debut yesterday (1/16/20), and you guys. . . It rocked my mothereffing world. (And yes, I received a free digital arc for review purposes.) I’ll share the synopsis down in the comments, so I won’t rehash it here. What you need to know: this book is a dark, twisted, sexy, and 𝑐𝑟𝑎𝑧𝑦 trip. 💥When @mobius_books put the call out for their ᗯYᑎTᗴᖇTIᗪᗴ tour (thanks for sending me a free copy!), I jumped at the chance. I’d had ᖇOTᕼᗴᖇᗯᗴIᖇᗪ on my shelf since last year, and was excited to finally dive into the series (because, as anyone who knows me knows, I abhor having to wait for series releases. So I binge). • • 💥So, I blew through Rotherweird earlier this week, and am now getting ready to dive into this next installment. Things you should know about this series (aside from how stunning the covers are): it’s quirky, it’s dark, it’s entertaining and a great escape from reality. And the cast of characters are an absolute hoot. I mean, well, most of them. Some of them are just straight up evil. (But every story needs a great villain. 📝Ok guys, I’ve had an unusually productive Monday. I have no clue who lit the fire under my ass, but it worked. 😆 • • 📚I went to my first #BookClub meeting of the year tonight, and we discussed Tᕼᗴ ᖴOᑌᑎTᗩIᑎᔕ Oᖴ ᔕIᒪᗴᑎᑕᗴ ᗷY ᖇᑌTᗩ ᔕᗴᑭᗴTYᔕ. We all agreed to having learned 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 from this book. To be brutally honest, I don’t remember learning about this piece of Spain’s past at any point during history class. So I greatly appreciated the amount of research Sepetys put into this book.🗃 • • 📖In addition to an eye-opening history lesson, this book is filled with amazing characters and gorgeous imagery. The personalities were all very engaging and they came to life so vividly in my mind, as did the entire setting around them. Also? I often forgot I was reading a book marketed as #YA. Sepetys’ writing ability is just plain brilliant.💥 • • 👍🏻In summation, I will read anything Sepetys writes. 🍺It’s Friday night! I finished my last holiday read, then told myself I could pick any book off my shelves because I don’t have to start book club reads until Monday. Apparently that’s too much freedom because I looked at my shelves and basically my brain exploded. I forgot how stressful it is to “just pick a book”. 😆 • • 🍺I ended up choosing ᘜOOᗪᗷYᗴ ᐯITᗩᗰIᑎ by Rachel Khong. The reality is that I no longer remember what this book is about, but I 𝑑𝑜 remember how insanely excited I was to read it when it released. And the cover is 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 pretty. So I’m just going to jump in feet first and let the story reveal itself to me as I go. #BringOnTheBacklist • • 🍺What’s on your #TBR this weekend? • • 🍺On a beer note: I’m just as crazy about drinking #WisconsinBeer as I am about drinking amber beers.
